Chandler James grew up in “the original Nashville,” located in Eastern North Carolina. He connected with music early in his childhood and loved a good Motown karaoke session in the car. He learned that the right song at the right time could help you get through anything. On the first day of his Senior year in high school, he made the well thought out decision (over lunch) to drop AP Psych and replace it with guitar. When he put two chords together, he realized playing AND singing a great song makes it mean even more.
Chandler started playing local bars and shows, working hard to increase his visibility, all while attending the local community college. He was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to record his first EP in the legendary Blackbird Studios in Nashville, TN, and was hooked! After earning his Associates degree, he made the move to Tennessee. Since the EP, Chandler has released several singles with more new music on the way.
Today you can find Chandler playing a gig on Broadway, or at a local writers round. He is also the first ever "Got to BE NC" Ag Star.... which brings him back home to North Carolina where he gets to tour the state, singing and telling people about N.C. Agriculture and all the great local products N.C. has to offer. He continues to work hard towards his music goals as an independent artist and says while he has no idea where this journey will take him, he is remains grateful and proud to have us all join in and see where the road leads.
